I LOVE this! Can't believe I missed this post when you first were working on it. Steeples are a vital piece of any 1920's US Interurban line. Great work! :D

Probably close enough to pretend. :) It really is a neat lookin loco, Akalamanaia. How long did it take to learn to do that, and did you have any prior experience with the software? I'm getting really tempted to start working on some more US locos, but I'm really doubting if I'll have the time to do a decent job on it before I burn out.

I got 1 and half year prior exprience with 3dsmax, and i can say the model isn't what you could define "good", i would say its more like "average". It can take from weeks to days depending on the tutorial how to model. I could've done this better looking by texturing on the details instead of modelling them. I suggest you try start with the boxier looking locomotives, that are easier to model and rig. then NS_37(norfolksouthern_37) has a camera file avaible in his webspace for use in rendering(look at this sig). The only thing that keeps me from doing more Locomotion models that i have to go through sheer pain of converting 135 image files to loco's palette over and over again as i don't have PSP8 or batch conversion utility.

I would say A also, simply because the details on B stick out too much. A is more softened and easier to look at as a whole.

im also thinking of adding a company another company colour stripe on the side, making it easier to distinguish wich is the side, wich is the front of the train. Im also trying to find out how i can bring out the bumps on the engine panels without using a texture.(i think ill make multiple company colour versions sometime, like Stripes and other stuff, but once i gain a method of batch converting palettes for 135 images).

[EDIT]Heres what im thinking im gona do to make showing that wich are sides, wich are top and wich are front is easier[EDIT]

Its still taking some time to get the new models renders into palette without getting dozens of diffrent graphical errors intorduced by the conversion process..
