Re: Title game for OpenTTD's 1.0 series
Ok, tried my best to put maximum of the features. But there are still some mistakes, probably. Maybe at 640x480 it is not that perfect...

Re: Title game for OpenTTD's 1.0 series
Well started from scratch, I made totaly new one game, which I think is much more better and richer. Even on 640x480 resolution there are all means of transport shown.

Re: Title game for OpenTTD's 1.0 series
Looks nice. The monorail terminus station do not need to have path signals in front of each platform. There is an implicit signal there already when the trains turn around. Actually I think at any time a train decides to turn around it will implicitly behave as if it was standing in front of a path signal.

Zuu: That's maybe even right. Yet I like them there for eye-candy purposes.

I do the same out of habit and because some layouts need it

Re: Title game for OpenTTD's 1.0 series
I've added the screenshots for the 'newly' added savegames. So far 15 people have 'submitted' 28 intro games, but lots of them are improvements of earlier ones.
Still about 10 days before the voting is going to begin. Any ideas what would be a good way of voting?
- Let people grade the intro games?
- Let people make a top 3 of intro games?
- Maybe something else?

Re: Title game for OpenTTD's 1.0 series
What I saw at #openttdcoop, was that we put all the options up for voting (all plans), then each person wrote their name, and a countdown of which plan they liked least, 1 for the worst and so on. The idea being whichever plan is liked the most got the most points from this style of voting.
Re: Title game for OpenTTD's 1.0 series
How about an reality-tv type thing where we eliminate a couple at a time?
Re: Title game for OpenTTD's 1.0 series
Perhaps do it in two stages. People vote at the one they like the best and then the three with highest score will be chosen and a new voting starts with cleared scores.
An issue with the high amount of submissions that there is is that if each person shall check how well they think the submission work for not only 800x600 but also higher resolutions according to the criterias that Rubidium stated at the first page then that will take a lot of time and a lot of people will not take their time to do that but maybe still cast a vote.

Re: Title game for OpenTTD's 1.0 series
Here's a sub, wanted plenty of trains bezzing about with varied signalling and keeping the noise down, the noise of the normal screen does my head in.

Re: Title game for OpenTTD's 1.0 series
Heres my attempt. I'm not especially happy with it, and it needs a lot more editing before I consider it done, but I figured I'd throw what I've got so far up here as a first draft, and see what people think. Its got every single type of transport (though I don't have any canals yet), but at lower resolutions, you can't see all of them. You get a nice variety at 1024x768 and above, though. I also still need to add some more stuff around the edges - my monitor only goes up to 1680x1050, and I have a nasty feeling that anyone with a higher res will end up seeing loads of empty space (or worse, the pointless stations I have for trains to go to
)
I'm thinking of maybe putting an island where the oil rig is - that area is a bit empty, so something to look at there would be nice.

Re: Title game for OpenTTD's 1.0 series
I made some improvements after I saw the screenshots of the big screens (never thought there will be even bigger then full HD
)
Changelog:

Changelog:
- Bridge over the terminal and tracks on the shore for better view of the big steel train.
- Improved monorail terminal with both way of exit-from-station signaling.
- Improved truck loading bay, but that's not actualy visible.
- More trucks.
- Different selection of planes.
- Dummy iron ore mines moved out of the sight. (At least I hope, anyway they don't look that weird now.)
- Added lighthouse next to the central small lake.
- Goods train is now diesel

Re: Title game for OpenTTD's 1.0 series
Is it legal to use dummy ai to create multiple companies? (use of ais is bad, but dummy ai is in every openttd)
Correct me If I am wrong - PM me if my English is bad

Re: Title game for OpenTTD's 1.0 series
No, use multiplayer for that; start a server, from the company dropdown select 'spectate' and then you can start a new company.Kogut wrote:Is it legal to use dummy ai to create multiple companies?

Re: Title game for OpenTTD's 1.0 series
I've made a second one... its much better than my first, and looks pretty good at every resolution I've tried it at. I'm tempted to get rid of the road vehicles though - the buses in particular keep making money, so that annoying bell sound keeps playing.
I have to say though, some of the ones already posted are brilliant. Much better than mine

Slight update to my title game proposal.
Now with one-way roads, with less useless tracks and better service quality

Maybe something like: let people nominate 3 entries and in a 2nd round vote on the top three entries with most nominations.Rubidium wrote:Any ideas what would be a good way of voting?
