Shameless bump and....

While the biggest and baddest locomotives steal all the glamour, sometimes the small vehicles make the dirty work.

RMd 55 avalible from year 1931, fits the bill perfectly. 150 hp, 80 km/h and a modest capacity of 30 passagers and 10 bags of mail make it the best choice when very little is needed to provide an adequate service.

... but its running costs will be several million, right? ;)

Seriously, that's one very nice looking little railcar! It almost looks too nice to be such a modest vehicle.

Thanks Harold :)

Anyhoo.

SAR execs trying out their new toy - class 20E locomotive. While not precisely meant for passanger trains this locomotive surely delivers performance to haul them at speed.

Fuel Cell ante portas - FCX2000, fresh from the works, hauling local train.

Fuel Cell success - FCX3000 with a quick diamonds train

Cutesy little wam 12 with a cutesy little train :P

EDIT: Slightly less cutesy EH '40' with just as cutesy train :)

A little plea - has anyone any clue where to get stats of trucks/road trains for the rubber part of the set? (I know that currently the stats are about 110 km/h and 600hp for a tractor of a good sized road train, but how was the stats say, in 1950?)

A little bump to make ppl aware of my plea :)

Also - I am two locos short of next release.

For now - WAG10 sneaking behind the trees with a wood train.

EDIT: When it comes to real haulage, like moving earth's axis, 3EAX AC locomotive is the tool of choice. Here going up with a long general goods train.

EDIT2: Steam power - XXI century styel. AT12 locomotive runs at full speed with an express train (BTW - should I make a matching stock for this loco?)

It's a wonderful set! I've been playing with it this weekend, but I have a slight difficulty with it. The trains are so expensive it's hard to make some decent profit out of it. You can forget about passenger service for profit in Tropical, we all know that. So you are obliged to make long freight trains, which isn't my style at all in TTD :?

Apart from that, a very very very neat set indeed! When playing Tropical maps I'll surely use it over and over again!

Singaporekid:

Indeed - and it will not :P (for now)

Tony Babeleony:

The running costs are going to go down by helluva lot in second release (which is 99% drawn :P) along with 2cc support for most engines. Because I went a bit overboard with the costs of the late game locos :P.

For now - the last loco planned for the next release. GRXMAM - the garratt of XXIst century.

I don't know that road trains were used in the 50's. I assume that truck hp was not up to scratch at that time. Also, the highway systems were not what they are today hence a reliance on rail rather than trucks.

Wallyweb. Yes and no. The real trucking in the world started circa 1950. By that time first road trains started to roam australia. At the beginning they were just military trucks with some trailers attached at the end.

EDIT: what to do to have TRS listed in the grf index?

Already there ;)

Anyhoo. In an unlikely event of having actual diagonal roads - we would see such trucks in TRS Truck Set
