[Developing]Finnish Set, Taster Released
Moderator: Graphics Moderators
In the beginning of the thread i read something about a scandinavian/swedish set, what about it? Where can i have a look at what's been done?
I've been thinking of making one myself but since i have no experience and little time i haven't started doing anything, but i'd love to see some work that's been done.

MB is busy with a Scandinavian Set, you should look at his website.DrFitz wrote:In the beginning of the thread i read something about a scandinavian/swedish set, what about it? Where can i have a look at what's been done?
Besides that, a Swedish train is already available. Look here for the Y2 DMU.

DrFitz you can always start a thread with idea and list a few locos, eventually when graphic artists & coders take intrest, they will begin to bring life to the set.
. *whistles* http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?p=173712#173712 the list has been updated again..

it looks very good, the roof shading is good, but the only thing is that in _ view the roof is darker than in the other views.Akalamanaia wrote:aren't shure if the roof shading is correct thou..
EDIT: But the shading of the wood in / view is wrong (well, actually there isn't any shading in that brown). Besides that I don't see any doors, you should probably make them in a slightly darker brown.
Another thing is that the upper row of sprites is identically of the lower row, while they should be 'mirrored' since the _ view isn't symetric.
I don't know the coach, but maybe it needs red lights for the last coach on the train.
But it looks very nice, the windows are good and the roof shading is good. Even the grey lower row of pixels is shaded correctly.
Ow.... you might add the wheels in / and \ view (just make some pixels in the lower row darker).
Keep up the good work.

You've got the Sm1 and Sm2 the wrong way around. That's because the Sm1 series was reconditioned between 1996 and 2000. They had their interior completely rebuilt, including new (and much more comfortable) seats, and were painted with the red and white livery. Sm2 series hasn't yet been reconditioned, so they still have the old brown and yellow livery, and the original seventies-era interior. I do expect them to go through the update shortly, though, as one Sm2 has already been reconditioned.
My suggestion would be to use the brown-and-yellow graphic for both Sm1 and Sm2 up until about 2000, and the red-and-white graphic for both thereafter. The two EMUs are nearly identical in appearance anyway. The biggest difference is that Sm1 has several long creases on it's side whereas Sm2's sides are completely smooth, and that's way too small to show up on TTDX scale.
