Re: North American Bridges Set [abandoned]
It is impossible for NARoads to cater for other bridge sets (there is a parameter to disable NARoads' TTD 'original' bridges). That is why we had the idea of a separate bridge set. As things stand today, a bridge set needs to be a link between rail track and road infrastructure sets. For NABridge alone, we would have required to be compatible with normal, monorail, maglev and narrow gauge rail tracks as well as TTD 'original' and NARoads 'dirt / bitumen' road systems. That would have meant for each bridge 12 bridge definitions with far too many real sprites being burnt.Acerbus wrote:Does this mean that the NA Roads set will not receive compatibility with any bridge set?
Currently, NARoads does have full support for all the above mentioned rail track systems (road crossings) as well as TTD 'original' bridges. Any NARoads support for other bridge sets must come from those bridge sets – good luck with that – but it won't be NABridge.
Once the 'masters' of TTDPatch and OpenTTD have sorted out how to deal with bridges, we may revisit this subject, but don't hold your breath ...

If you are trying to explain that you would like newRoutes done then you have failed badly.
For those who don't know, newRoutes was meant to be a method of allowing compatibility between bridge sets, roads and rails.
This would be a far better method of doing things however newRoutes is still in the planning page mainly.

Re: North American Bridges Set [abandoned]
Compatibility with other bridge sets (e.g. Total Bridge Renewal Set) is up to the author of the bridge set. All the author of the bridge set needs are the graphics/sprites for the road set and the will to do the job. thgergo has already said that when his basic bridges are completed he will add compatibility with roads and narrow gauge. All we can do is wait patiently.Acerbus wrote:Does this mean that the NA Roads set will not receive compatibility with any bridge set?
