Bug in ChrisIN-r10563:
When loading my ChrisIN-r10488 saved game into r10563 and then trying to open Configure patches => Economy tab I get an error of invalid string id 0 in GetString along with graphical glitch.

I figured that out already, unfortunately the only option right now is to disable the town construction cost patch which it is by default anywayathanasios wrote:I can't build anything near cities with patch enabled. It just clears land...

Yap when clicking the economy screen the game crashes, I must have done something awfully wrong when merging the patches into one page. When loading my ChrisIN-r10488 saved game into r10563 and then trying to open Configure patches => Economy tab I get an error of invalid string id 0 in GetString along with graphical glitch.
Ok so for now I suggest using the version posted in this thread as the latest build seems to have two serious bugs.
I write exams for the next 4 days (monday to thursday) so I hope you forgive me that I probably won't fix these until next weekend

Are you still considering the extra diesel smoke patch, chrissicom? It was one of my favourite patches of the MiniIN.

Re: Integrated Version ChrisIN-r10563 [14/07/2007]
This also happened for me when trying to build a stationi near a Power Plant which was not near a city.chrissicom wrote:I figured that out already, unfortunately the only option right now is to disable the town construction cost patch which it is by default anywayathanasios wrote:I can't build anything near cities with patch enabled. Hope to fix this asap!
I think the best thing to do is to limit the effects of this patch to demolishing town-owned buildings and roads, and leave everything else as it is. That should cause the least amount of bugs/side-effects.
If there's a free tile with grass in the center it's probably because the town was not interested in it anyway.
Re: Integrated Version ChrisIN-r10534 [14/07/2007]
i wish people test some little features i made for the transparency options: http://bugs.openttd.org/task/827
the patches are a little old, but since they change the transparency code they shouldn't be hard to apply
just some suggestions:
- before adding widgets to the transparency gui, apply the "variable fix" patch first, because with the latest features we ran out of space for transparency widgets
- don't forget to use the invisible houses patch fixed for newhouses (10175), because the old ones will crash the game (i think it has something to do with the sprite caching, DON'T TRY TO FIX IT you'll don't want to break the newhouses code, i'm working on it with Belugas)

Re: Integrated Version ChrisIN-r10580 [15/07/2007]
Ok, this will be my last post for about a week or so
r10580-ChrisIN is now a properly working build again. The town construction cost exploits have been fixed the following way now: When selling railway or owned land the multiplier is only called in cities with more than 200000 population (i.e. never
). I thought the initial intention of the game never was to earn money by selling railway or owned land, so now you will always only get a tiny amount of money back for recycling the iron of the rails or the sign stating this is my land
(this is not the final solution but good for multiplayer for now).
When loading savegames from ChrisIN-r10488 or newer there won't be any crashes anymore on the patch screens and also patch options will be loaded properly. There's still a seperate page in the Patches GUI so you can easily find out which patches are unique to ChrisIN and not in trunk. Also be aware that some of the patches, e.g. mail subsidies, do not have any GUI representation. Just in case you were wondering why there are so few options for so many patches.
What I want to do for daylength in the future, is slowing down tree growth and speeding up grass growth so you don't have brown tiles "forever" on high daylength settings
.
Ok this should be all for now, wish me luck for my exams, especially maths
see you in a week or so!

Re: Integrated Version ChrisIN-r10580 [15/07/2007]
I've had some problem with the new r10580.
1: When I tried to load a testgame which I made in r10417 I got the message that game load failed
[see attachment]
2: When using the copy/paste feature in r10580 after some copies of a major junction my game seems to be crashing.
[see attachment]
What am I doing wrong?

Probably you will have to resave the savegame in another build. Maybe some older nightly, I can't tell.Savegame compatibility of current build:
OpenTTD 0.5.2, 0.5.3-RCx, r9768-r10580, r10488-ChrisIN and above.

Re: Integrated Version ChrisIN-r10580 [15/07/2007]
First exam done yay!
You can use r10488 to the game, then save it and then you can also load it with the latest ChrisIN
I never tried to paste such huge areas, I'll look into it
Tomorrow is my math exam eek

Re: Integrated Version ChrisIN-r10604 [17/07/2007]
chrissicom - would you be willing to include my pathces in the ChrisIN if I update them to the latest revision?
Experiences show that they greatly enhance the game with as little code as possible. They are stable and have been in every integrated build until now.
Let me know.

NewGRF: Oil Wells in Temperate terrain now can Increase production, Better vehicle names, Use-able default aircraft, Oil Rig for Snowland and Desert, Speed for Suspension bridges.
Patches (OpenTTD): Improved smooth_economy [in trunk], More (diesel) smoke [in trunk], Realistic_acceleration finetune.
Keep 'em rollin'!

Hello,
I wasn't about to post this but I keep getting a game crash...
It's frustrating... I want to copy a very large junction [see attachement earlier]
and after a certain of copies the game keeps on crashing and crashing and crashing...
I've attached the message, and I've tried to update the copy/paste grf aswell.
Could someone please explain to me what going wrong?
greetz
