[OTTD] Network galore (UK)

Post by iranair777 »

Not much of a storyteller, but will try at it. My map of the UK, my aim: to serve every town/city within the map. I usually build very messy systems but I'm going to try and be as neat as possible. Enough chatter, hers much screenshots for today, enjoy :D

BTW, how do I post the pictures so they show up instead of clicking the link?

Not happy about this junction at all. Anyone have a better fix? I would like to keep the layout but signalling is off.

View of London. 2 EK A380's lifting passengers with 3 trains at waterloo. Will improve waterloo and expand the railway to the north soon.

For some reason I really like this layout

Current simple network map. Any better programs in making network maps which doesn't involve drawing?

I believe they have to be 800x600 pixels or less to show up without being clicked.

Updated the platforms at Bournemouth to something more like a station. The overpass to Poole goes right through the incomplete parts of the station.

Added a bus route from the centre of London to the east to rejuvenate the area. Waterloo has also been given the 'Bournemouth treatment'

Done a lot of tweaks and work on the entire map. I'll post some, but not all now.

Added a link between Waterloo, Kings cross and London stops. Found that passengers wanted direct routes to LHR so added a train link from Kings cross and waterloo to the airport. The waterloo link was loosing me a lot of money so replaced it with trams for now. Might add a railway direct from waterloo to kings cross via LHR, that may seem more feasible.

Thanks to ChillCore I'm on the way to making my trains separate into more of a realistic matter. Still a few problems though which have to be sorted. replaced the waypoints with 'stations' to not confused the game engine here.

London Heathrow airport. Started a new route to Birmingham with 4 A380's. Also increase the Paris route by one as demand soared from connecting passengers from Birmingham. Might have to start doing some direct flights from Birmingham, only problem is the cost of the A380's! every year they are going up by a million, currently at 25 million. per plane! with a lifespan of 30 years and a average yearly profit of 1.3million each, its quite a battle to recover the money! (Anyone know how to stop the increase in plane price? I don't want to affect inflation, just that the A380 is going up far too much compared to the other aircraft. or alternatively I can disable inflation, but will it stay at the current levels?

hope you enjoyed :)
