Username change requests
Surprisingly, I don't think I've had too many requests for username changes since the last one in the summer. Maybe people actually listened to my "please don't PM me, wait for a topic" pleas last time! Anyway, should you want your username changed, please post here. This topic will remain open for a few weeks.
As usual, I reserve the right not to change any username if for some reason I deem the change to be unsuitable, but usually there won't be a problem.

Out of interest, what mobile devices are causing problems, and what are you using on those devices? Is the problem with Tapatalk?oberhümer wrote:oberhümer to oberhuemer (will allow me to log on using certain mobile devices).

Mainly (really only) an iPhone. There probably is an international keyboard for it somewhere, but I can't/shouldn't install it.

Re: Username change requests
On the iPhone, if you hold a (virtual) key for a few seconds, all the permutations of that letter come up and you can select whichever one you want. For example, I'm using an Qwerty English keyboard on an iPad and if I hold 'e' for a few seconds, then I can select any of the following: ęēėëéeèêoberhümer wrote:Mainly (really only) an iPhone. As a side, does anyone know what language the first three 'e's are from?

Re: Username change requests
According to Wikipedia, they turn up in Polish, Latvian and Lithuanian at least (in the order you gave them). But that's a bit off-topic for here!
Re: Username change requests
once the usernames have been changed, do we sign in using our new or old names?

Re: Username change requests
The new name. You likely won't know that it's changed until you try to log in and find you can't.

On an on-topic note, could I clange to 47407 or Aycliffe, whichever is free, the former preferably.

Re: Username change requests
OK, so as far as I can tell, we have the following requests:
Pottanda -> Pottsy
Torben Paw -> Torben DH
Madassasin -> cmircea
Psyvhotic Baboon -> Dreamcatcher
m_lund_m -> Moluma
73129 -> 47407
If anybody objects, please post here. Otherwise, I'll make the changes at some point next week. And if anybody else wants to be changed, get your request in now, as this may be the last topic for half a year or more.
(Note that there is already a "Dreamcatcher" user, but as they've never posted or even logged in since registering in 2006, I'll make an exception to my usual rule and rename them, so that we can reuse the username.)

Re: Username change requests
The requested changes have now been made. All users who have had a username changed should include something along the lines of "Formerly known as X" in their signature, at least for a few months.
If anybody has any problems, please let me know.
