[OpenTTD] Utah Lake v1.00
~ Utah Lake v1.00 ~
Alright, my first functional scenario! Wooo!!
Anyways, I finally decided to make a scenario encompassing both NARS and Pikka's Basic Industries and thus, I decided to make Utah Lake. I enjoyed the Provo Utah scenario for Locomotion and so that's another reason I made this scenario.
I tried my best to be accurate with placement of towns and the mountains, which due to the height limits of openttd the mountains don't look so good. As for industries I placed a few industries that may exist in their area, and then some out of place or fictional ones to make the game fun and to keep the chains going.
The scenario isn't large, being only 512x512 but there's the lake and depending on where you build, there's rough mountainous terrain. I got the basic shape of the lake from Google maps and then did the rest by hand. It took me almost 3 days to finish.
Its not perfect, its a little ugly, but its good enough if anyone wants to play around in Provo as Union Pacific. If anyone wants to modify it go ahead, just make sure to upload any modifications of the scenario here or drop me an email (nekomaster.max(at)gmail.com) if you want to upload it somewhere else.
YOU WILL NEED NARS v2.03 and Pikka's Basic Industries to play this scenario
So, enough talking, here's the file's (the scenario and a zip with some png screenies). So...
Go ahead and knock your self out :3 (well... not literally, just have fun)

What is the idea with all of the rock tiles?

Re: [OpenTTD] Utah Lake v1.00
I needed to have iron and coal in the scenario so I had to go with Sub-Arctic and because Utah is relatively arid, I put rocks everywhere to simulate arid terrain.GoldRush wrote:What is the idea with all of the rock tiles?

Awesome, did you try to play as Union Pacific or did you go off and make your own companybuckethead wrote:Downloaded and played this afternoon. Really nice, I love maps with big cities!

Playing the scenario, how difficult would you say it is to do passenger or freight operations?

Re: [OpenTTD] Utah Lake v1.00
I'm using the NARS set but I'm not using the Union Pacific trains.
It isn't difficult, but I suggest everyone to use the magic bulldozer cheat to make more realistic networks, ergo make them pass through the cities.

Re: [OpenTTD] Utah Lake v1.00
Quite true, most majour cities that have a rail connection have the rail going through it since most big cities grew around the railroad. If I ever make a earlier version of this scenario, the cities will be smaller and possibly made for having the rails built on the edgebuckethead wrote:I'm using the NARS set but I'm not using the Union Pacific trains.

Re: [OpenTTD] Utah Lake v1.00
4 years later and I wonder if people are still playing with this scenario? Maybe I could update it someday and make it bigger and use more industry like ECS or FIRS or OpenGFX Industries (or all tree in three different scenarios).
