If you're in a car, you're as well looking over the bridge near Taunton School, as you can see right into the throat of the yard. Near the post office site on the other side of the road bridge there used to be a footbridge which was a great spot for photography (and showed how wide the GWML used to be at that point!) but I've a sneaky feeling it may have been dismantled or at least closed off :(
'40 steps' as it is colloquially known?! Nah, that is surely still there! The view from each direction on the bridge are as below! NB: You may or may not see all of those trains on a visit.
