LM Half Price Off-Peak Returns

Post by JamieLei »

London Midland are doing their sale again, which means you get get half price Off Peak Returns and Off Peak Day Returns for half price if you buy them through their website. The interesting footnote is that it seems that this applies to ANY ticket priced by LM, even if it's valid on other operator's services. For example, Birmingham to Shrewsbury, Birmingham to Liverpool and MK to London (the All Routes Permitted version) on which you can use ANY operator's trains. I suppose someone could find it useful if they were to split tickets (which is encouraged on that page, oddly enough).

That is actually very useful information, thanks Jamie (LM are so canny they probably would never advertise this at stations or on trains).

Unfortunately that was an old promotion which a spambot dug up - but the offers come round every now and again.

Ooh. I might have a train day. Have a friday off rounnd there.

I see loco hauled Marylebone to Birmingham, than London Midland back via Bletchley - Bedford branch. For 15 quid plus FCC.

Edit: Err, anyone point me to which trains are loco's?

Chiltern mark them in their timetable as "Silver Trains". They might cost a bit more though cause they're nice :)

Nah they're the same price I believe.

There'll be less advance seats though, I am guessing.

Nice relaxing train ride to Brum and back on Friday 4th Nov for me... for only 15 quid :D

Will be nice to have a walk around Birmingham, not a place I know well.
