[OTTD] Davis' random Screenshots

Post by davis »

Good day. The past couple of weeks i've been playing a germany based game , kinda aiming for the goal to re-create the "Deutsche Bahn" rail network using this
Image map.
While i'm not even close to be finished creating all those lines , and the scenario I used clearly lacks details considering City Sizes / e.g the Ruhrgebiet pretty much has grown into one large city/ i'd still like to present some screenshots of my current games.

Also i'd like to note that I took several sprites made by the beloved SAC , and /coded/ them into newobjects in order to use them in my game. While this is legaly probably an grey area , please don't get all angry at me.

Anyway , here goes. File number one is an brief Network overview , as you see many lines end nowhere and still arn't finished , still quite a way to go.

Second Picture shows one of the busiest areas of my game , displaying parts of Dortmund , Wuppertal , Essen and Düsseldorf Flughafen.

Third Picture displays one of my favourite parts of the current game , Hamburg Airport which is still quite WIP but it imho it makes great use of many sprites provided ( more or less voluntary *hides* ) by SAC. You can see the Plane heading für Düsseldorf Airport , plus both the transfer bus and train.

I'm using Chills patchpack and a huge amount of newgrfs , if anyone wants a grflist i'll make sure to post it later on. :)

I love what you have done with the combination of Dutch stations and NewStations in the last screenshot. Very creative indeed :D

Thank you for the kind comments :))

@XeryusTC
thank you , allthough i can't take full credit for that since I actually believe I've seen someone else doing that before , still i can't argue that it looks pretty neat.

@Fraenklie
The Bus Depots are made by SAC and arn't available to download yet. As statet above , due my lack of patience I took the sprites SAC posted in his/her thread and coded them into newobjects for my own. Gonna attach some grf list though

#1 grflist

#2 Showing the port of Hamburg , which currently is the loadingstation of the longest train in the game , being provided by Oil from sea , it produces an fair amount of plastic and fuel oil.

#3 Frankfurt Airport an parts of Wiesbaden , showing both the transferlines from Frankfurt HBF and Wiesbaden , but also the passing express trains.

On Hamburger Hafen, how did you get that Steel-Station Crane so long with the ISR 0.8 release? I'm limited to just 6-tiles long, even if i join sections end to end.

Fantastic shots btw

EDIT: Sorry, rescaling didnt work, how do i get this show at 640x480 in forums?

@ JacobD88 , quite honestly i'm not entirely sure. I just dragged the station as long as that, and it works fine for me. Might wanna check your max stationlength settings? *shrugs*

Another two shots , showing Wiesbaden and Mainz and the Central station of Freiburg

also excuse my language mistakes , english clearly isn't my native language :p

I've only used ISR and DWE on that station. Honestly i'm not even seeing the issue you guys having. Could you eventually provide some screenshots explaining the problem? :)

that s what we have for problem (see the 7 tiles long station is not avalaible...) so we canno t have a single piece forming a long platform (we have to stick two together)

EDIT : oh ! after building two next to each other... if i rebuild it over the existing 12 tiles long platform(but double) it make it become one piece !!

Strange , I just installed the latest stable version of openttd , began a game with just the ISR grf loaded and got this results.
Although it's getting a bit offtopic i'd realy like to help you , but i don't realy see the reason it works for me , but doesn't work for you.
Might be a thing we could adress in the ISR thread?

edit: alright here we go :P

sorry for the off topic...

finally it works the same for me as for you...
it s only the size 7 and 8 tiles long that doesn t work... it indeed work when the platform is longer or shorter...

Thanks Romazoon, will report to ISR thread. Not sure why it won't permit 7-8 tile long gantries but will permit longer or shorter.
Lovely harbour nonetheless Davis and keep up the great shots

I want to join praising your screenshots, and I have something for you too: the flags on the Swedish House Set can be turned off in the parameters. It's quite useful if you don't want to have Swedish flags in Germany. ;)

New Game , new screenshots.

Playing some UK Scenario that also contains parts of France and the Netherlands. anyway since it's late. for now 3 quick shots of my main project -London- , hope you enjoy =)

Again if grflist is requested , i'll be happy to post one =). 2cc + UKRS + ECS + Swedish Houses / TTRS3 should be the main grfs.

Very nice! Can you tell me the GRF you got the park from? I have VAST but I've never seen those seasonal trees or that big 3x3 fountain.
