Didnt see (went up to 6 pages back) a screenshot topic here in the Openttd section.... so here it is :)

Im going to start with a few of the map im working on (scenario: The Netherlands)

My pride station (and also give me A LOT of thinking while it grew hehehe) started out like this:

Image

After a couple years i attached more stations from the North-Sea to it and it grew to this (I also added a town here, thought it looks nice... djeez was i wrong, it caused problems when i needed to expand the station heheheh:

Image

More stations added, required more platforms, this is also where i started struggeling with the platform acceses to keep the trains driving and not cause traffic jams:

Years later i "perfected" it although i am still able to expand it some more :):

A 2nd station under development at the Liege Refinery:

Because of the long distance from the most northern oil wells, i added 2 substations (1 to my prize station, the other to the Liege Refinery), where the oil is transfered so the trains dont have to drive toooo long:

A couple more screenies at the same time of my prize station, in the following order: Coal mined at dortmund area (including a 30 tile station :D), the receiving station at Amsterdam (this station also receives trains from the Maastricht area coal mines, the "crossing" of the north-south oil line and the east-west coal line:

At the moment i have a total of 539 trains driving around, that combined with a couple airplanes flying around somewhere heheh, gives me a yearly income of over 1.8 Billion Euros (yes thats +1.800.000.000,- 8) )

Ok any comment are appreciated (no flaming/trolling) :p and please post your screenies here aswell :)

There is a screenshot section on this forum, it is a mixed screenshot section for the original TTD, TTDPatch and OpenTTD. It is also a rule to not post more than 3 images in one post.

On your screenshots: Looks impressive, but the station after the following quote seems weird to me due to the heavy terraforming that you must have done to create it.
Because of the long distance from the most northern oil wells, i added 2 substations (1 to my prize station, the other to the Liege Refinery), where the oil is transfered so the trains dont have to drive toooo long:
And how can trains have to drive too long? I see Maglev tracks, so that shouldn't be an issue, unless it is from one end of the map to the other end.

I didnt know about that topic Transportman.

And yes, we Dutch are famous for creating land in sea (maasvlakte) so i did it ingame aswell :) cost me somewhat A LOT of cash though :(
And again yes, A LOT of trains would have to drive from the upper edge of the map (north-sea oilwells) to the south edge (left corner and liege refinery) if not for those sub stations :)

I also see a lot of tracks that are empty, maybe merge some lines and then only split them at stations? Maybe use timetables to regulate the flow a bit (if you are not doing that already)?

It's actually not but it's preferred that screenshots are uploaded to the forum rather than a 3rd party host which in turn limits you to 3 attachments per post.
