OK, here's something very interesting I found.
Here is a probably not-entirely-legitimate website that sells Indian train tickets. Look closely at the picture of the train and tell us what you think is wrong with it.

My, that's a mighty highly-uniform blue colour its got going around that "Railways" text.
For those that want to see what it said before http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=235840
(but that does spoil the challenge of above..)

Re: What do you make of this?
Yes, in fact here is the original picture.
Look at the very top one first though, to enhance the experience
Why would they do that anyway?

Lol, I knew that was an Aussie NR loco the minute I looked at it.
The real Rajdhani Express looks like this - don't see what's wrong with it? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:ChennaiRajdhani.JPG

The funny thing is, the Rajdhani Express reaches 140 km/h, while the Indian Pacific only goes 115 km/h. Because our trains here are slow and crap. The trains themselves are more modern and cleaner than those in India, but less useful, and not given the attention it deserves by the government.

Re: What do you make of this?
Ah Chennai. At my last job we had to deal with fellow employees from a call centre in Chennai. I was actually at an advantage, as being from Britain I had no real trouble understanding their accent. My fellow co-workers, native Oklahomans most of them, had never encountered a REAL Indian (as in India, rather than mis-named Native Americans) and so struggled immensely.
I did insist on calling Chennai by it's 'proper' name though; Madras. Look, we owned the place for 2 centuries or so and called it Madras, and by jingo! Madras it shall remain! Guess I'm just an old traditionalist though.
So, if I read correctly, dodgy Indian ticket company photoshopped (quite badly I might add) a picture of an Australian locomotive to try and promote their tickets? Yeah avoid that company like the plague eh?

You might have called it Madras, but Chennai is still the proper, current name, both in Tamil and in English.SquireJames wrote:I did insist on calling Chennai by it's 'proper' name though; Madras.
