Penalty sign or track tile

Post by NightElfik »

Hi, sometimes i want to make some part of track more penalized than other. I don't know about any elegant way how to do that. Path signals in opposite way or 1x1 station are quite confusing.

Better way is to have signal-like signs with some penalty weights.

The best way would be track tile with penalty weight, so you can use it in places, where you cant use signals, like huge crossings or places where you don't have empty track tile.

Placing waypoints is an extremely effective way of directing trains down various tracks, and they're not confusing in the slightest. Very easy to place and use.

Yes, exactly this situation i mean. Waypoints doesn't help you when you want to send most of trains in inner way of main line because you join another way with main line and you don't want to stuck your trains... And this is the simplest situation. My english is not good enough to explain my situation.

If you still don't believe me I can post some screen-shot of my problem which can not be solved by waypoints. I is basicly situation, when train have to join main line and it has more places where to do it, but the shortest is the last one so train never join main line sooner, but i want that train will join as soon as possible...

On the screen-shot, without penalty (path signals in opposite way), all trains will follow ONLY red line, they will not even try to connect main line sooner, because it is shorter. With penalty trains will join mail line es soon as possible.

PS: At first it was full featured cyclotron, but i rebuilt it and don't have save of it :/

Maybe add the penalty before the normal signal. It could probable be becaus it is not direct and because of that penalties don't outweigh the other route.

I don't understand, that print-screen is fully working, it only proofs, that penalty IS needed and waypoints are not solution. And I need 3 path signals in oposite way, because 1 is not enough.

I just want real "penalty sign", because signals in opposite ways are confusing (1st post) and sometimes you need much larger penalty than 1 or 2 signals.
