East London Line Reopens
East London Line has reopened as part of the Overground, with initially 8tph between Dalston Junction and New Cross Gate during weekdays. (Although its a testing period, I believe the ELL used to operate 9tph, with 5 to New Cross Gate and 4 to New Cross). Will be interesting to see how much Shoreditch High Street Station is used, since its actually on the fringes of the City (City with a capital C). Unlike the old station, it's now in Zone 1.

Should be handy for RBS in Bishopsgate as well as the more sleazy venues of Shoreditch High Street then...
Looking forward to trying out the new viaduct section sometime soon. I used to like the old ELL though, still miss it!

Farewell A Stock! Those lovely padded seats are a thing of the past!
I loved a report on the new Class 378s a while ago by ITN I think, promoting the lovely features of the new trains. They especially highlighted that they came with Air Conditioning (true!) while showing a camera shot of the driver's pantograph button (it said AC on it!)

Ive been waiting for this to open, as I can now find out how far north I can go on a travelcard. Mind you, its only two trains from my house to Brick Lane now, instead of a 1 1/2hr car journey at christmas.
Very much a retired regular poster..... If you can say that

Surely the obvious answer to that would be Epping?tommietomato wrote:Ive been waiting for this to open, as I can now find out how far north I can go on a travelcard.

Think about where RBS employees spend their massive bonuses (subsidised by us, of course!).47434 wrote:More sleazy than RBS???Kevo00 wrote:Should be handy for RBS in Bishopsgate as well as the more sleazy venues of Shoreditch High Street then...
