struct Company is the key to making this work I think. However, it is used too often for any quick change to be made. The attachment has an outline of how financial data would be arranged (from the company POV) to make it work.
Once the information is rearranged to keep all the Money s in one place, then it should be quite straightforward to compute profit and equity values.
The idea, in more general terms, is to keep cash-on-hand, which is an asset of the company, separate from everything else to do with money (loans, spending etc).
