Whats up with the 67s and MK2s I keep seeing?
I saw them for about the 3rd time recently today, there was top and tail 67s and about 4 or 5 MK2s going towards Newton Abbot from Paignton at around lunchtime today. Whats going on? I have confusion.

FGW have currently 2 loco-hauled diagrams to boost capacity: 1 set of 57/3s & Mark2/3s, and one of 67s & mark2/3s for Cardiff-Taunton/Weston/Paignton services.

Basically SWT have pulled out of running west of Exeter to allow them to increase the service between London and Exeter due to the Axminster doubling. FGW had to somehow cover the defecit and basically can't within their current fleet so the 67 & Mks that were on the Weymouth turns have been moved on to the Paignton runs and the 57s have been brought in to cover the Weymouths.EXTspotter wrote:I saw them for about the 3rd time recently today, there was top and tail 67s and about 4 or 5 MK2s going towards Newton Abbot from Paignton at around lunchtime today.
