Yes ... uh ....how shall I say it?
If you study ancient history, historical geography and christian archeology, AND when you´re interested in trains&railway, you get surely confused in a special cross-over-stile

So: Here is a map of the city of Constantinople, now called Istanbul. It was formed of 303 I. Constantine ( "the Great"), and until 1453 the capital of the Eastern Roman / Byzantine Empire.
This year, the last Emperor Constantine Paleologos II was defeated with his last troops by the Turkish / Ottoman dominance. From their battle cry "eis tan polis" (Greek for: [we] want to enter into the city! ") Is derived the modern name "Istanbul" from. Remained in the Ottoman Empire, however, the terms" Istanbul "or" Konstantinopoli "continues common. By 1920, Istanbul was the capital of the Ottoman Empire, before Mustafa Kemal Ata Turk, the capital of Turkey to Ankara (the ancient Angora) moved.
As before, but the city center of cultural life in Turkey was, as there still is the seat of the head of the Orthodox church - the Greek Christians in Istanbul are still called "Rum" ("Romans").
So much for history! Enjoy!
