i like what i'm seeing.

i hope there will be new buttons to allow sloped track inside the mountain, for emulation of bridges and tunnels and stuff of complex junctions :P it is a tunnel  lol
anyway, new subway station, where you can place the platform underground, and to be able to use it, you need a tunnel to the surface where there will be a 1x1 structure for the subway entrance or something??? :?:
JPG SUX!!! USE PNG!!!
There are times when JPG is useful, TTD screenshots is not one of them. Please use PNG instead.

or do people have alternate methods of visualising tunnels under ground?

i would assume the subway station could be put directlyu under a bus-stop (building, not road busstop), otherwise yes i would agree it would need a street level entrance, the thing is a street level entrance could be on a road tile without stopping traffic, as you only need escalators.
I like the style used in this picture:
well all that is not in conflict with my proposal, i hadn't tackled multiple levels yet, but i agree it should be somthing like that for multiple leveled subways.

That's not a method of visualising tunnels, it's showoff of slopes in tunnels

I really like your proposal from the first post. I think if one uses the level land tool it would be enough to create slope for sloped tracks underground. Just tunnels in tunnels and bridges in tunnels should be prohibited. As long as we're not making a huge cave a'la underground climate

bridges in tunnels will simply be an UP-and-OVER tool. tunnels in subways will be a DOWN-and-UNDER tool.

of course their menu entries will be totally nonrelated to either bridges or tunnels, it will be a unique logo for the situation, but no you will not be able to build a "structure" of a bridge, or a tunnel, inside subways.

anyway all normal tunnels will be visualised as subways anyway, so subways are just tunnels, (with up and down possibilities)

this will also allow for tunnels to be built into hills, such as spirals, and Zig-zags. this will hopefully let trains go at high speed up steep or impassable terrain.

of course it will come at a cost.

No [0]

Can you please stop gravedigging topics about subways / underground etc? We've seen more then enough of those recently.

[0] Ideas can't be used in the game at all, a patch that implements this idea might or might not be useable for more flexible raised tracks.
