but now what do i do?

You're being really thick 
Read the wiki - you just make the .nut files using your favorite text editor. The squirrel code itself is translated/understood by OTTD.

The best way to start IMHO is just to play around. You can change your code and reload your AI while OpenTTD is still running. I hack A LOT of stuff together in this way. Just try stuff and make good use of AILog and AISign to help give you feedback on what is going on.

The other thing I highly recommend is getting yourself an IRC client (mIRC is you have Windows or chatzilla if you use FireFox) and join #openttd and #openttd.noai on irc.oftc.net.
