you forgot the option "invade the country and make everyone learn your language", although i don't really see how that translates to an appropriate analogy ;)

Hmmm ... I was unable to find C&P patch version for 0.7.1 (since version for 0.7.0-RC1/0.7.0 does not work)
Nobody updated it, or is it just me failing to find it?

So I updated the 0.7.0 version to 0.7.1.

I am attaching the updated version here - anybody who want C&P in latest stable can use it.

i have problems with copypaste. i have an slightly complex mainline-crossing (maybe 35x35 fields large) that i want to copy.

its no problem to copy and paste it, but while load or save this template the game crashs sometimes. firstly thought it was a problem with my timetable-patch but this problem is also with the 0.7.0+copypaste-exe which is downloadable here in the thread directly.

what could it be?

What version of the game you use? some stable like 0.7.0 or 0.7.1 or some nightly/SVN build? Which revision?

Also, if you can upload the template that causes trouble, that could help us with finding where the problem is.

thx for the answer :)

for my selfcompiled ones i used the patch from this thread published by nex259 for r16427 but on r16565 or something,
but most time i use the 0.7.0-exe which was also in this thread published by Iguanna via zip-file. (http://www.tt-forums.net/download/file.php?id=108738)
problem seems to be the same
first thought i am wrong at compile, but the exe from nex259 makes the same error with that template... :(

EDIT
ok as said - now the files.

i know its no easy part, but it is also not crashing anytime. files are created via the exe from Iguanna (0.7.0 with copypaste)

My patchpack keeps full multiplayer compatibility (and, of couse, also savegame compatibility). So algonside copy & paste you get come improvements to console commands, console commands to automate some actions with vehicles and towns, and various GUI improvements (better serverlist, better GRF list, etc ...)

Savegame format, all game mechanics and multiplayer protocol remain all the same as ordinary 0.7.1.

For full list of included patches see here: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=43207

Usually patches get updated at least 1 week after the version release. Patience is your friend. ;)

Any chance at all of this wonderful patch appearing as a GRF for nightlies any time soon?

For this, the chance is exactly 0%. A patch like this cannot be done as a GRF.

After codechanges from 0.7.1 to latest trunk, it seems that the diff file is not compatible now. There is a lot of rejs.

I decided that I couldn't live without copy+paste in the latest version and so I tried to make it work. I was eventually successful (successful enough for my needs anyway) by "bodging" it. Thus, as a bodged patch, it comes with the following warning:

BIG HUGE WARNING
I haven't coded anything for at least five years and hadn't looked at the openttd source until yesterday. I basically tried to stop the rejections from the 0.7.1 of copypaste and then fix the errors that were preventing openttd compiling. Sometimes I was able to find out where the code was supposed to go or why it had stopped working, other times I wasn't. In those instances, I just deleted the code or commented it out completely so that the damn thing would compile. It won't copy waypoints, since the handling of those seems to have changed and I couldn't track down the changes. As a result I took an axe to all that code. It won't copy stations (did it ever? I didn't check.) It seems to get confused and become broken if you try and paste over the top of any object like an industry. That might not be my fault though, I didn't check that either. Oh, the highlighting when you're pasting isn't quite right either.

Basically, it does what I want, which is copy track/tunnels/bridges/signals fine.

I fix it up for r17164. It just happened to be the latest version that came out while I was trying to make it work, no other reason than that. It seems to patch and compile onto fonso's cargo distribution version of the game too, which is all I wanted.

You use this patch at your own risk because I haven't got a goddamn clue what I'm doing. It never should have worked. Obviously the planets were in alignment or something.

It would be a real shame if this patch dies a slow death because I think it's great. It shouldn't be left to people making wild stabs in the dark to get it working. Does anybody with some actual talent want to step up and save it? :D

This patch is a realy big patch as it is now and changes many things

Just to say would some one make it so it only copies and pastes railway track on there own

Then see if we can get that part of the patch in to trunk

Befor we add all the cool parts in

or is this patch all ways going to be keeped as a whole patch
