Ashchetum's Screenshots [OTTD]
Ashchetum's Screenshots [OTTD]
I hope to bring you valuable pictures of my latest OTTD games. At the moment I've only been playing OTTD for a couple months, so I'm very noobish. I'm used to Locomotion. Occasionally I will ask for advice. My posts will be blog style.

Hi! First picture post, the network I just posted pictures for is the most realistic I have ever made on OTTD, but the worst as far as functionality. The middle station (the first pic) always gets clogged. If you OTTD experts out there see anything majorly wrong, and you can tell me, or if you have any tips those would be great too.

to prevent jamming of station in shot #1, use path based signals:)
Re: Ashchetum's Screenshots [OTTD]
Which are the last two signales if you have signles gui on
Something goes here, hell if I know.

They are a special type of signals that allow multiple trains inside a switch.ashchetum wrote:ummmm. The wiki can explain better than me, I'm sure.

OOPS! Theres just one problem with using those singals, I'm running 0.6.3 not 0.7.0 . When I update I'll try that. Thanks though.

Re: Ashchetum's Screenshots [OTTD]

SHEEIEH I know nothing of what you speak! I need to start reading more, and asking less! My bad!ZxBiohazardZx wrote:without PBS, Pre/End might give same effect, but take up more space if im correct....
Ok now that that's over, on with the screenies!
PS: I think I forgot to mention in my opening statment that one of my MAIN THEMES is to make my layout eye pleasing and realistic.

What do you think of my network so far?
any better? Not much has happened yet, I do have some ideas of what will work well, and look good too.

Re: Ashchetum's Screenshots [OTTD]
Well, it's not ultra-realistic, but then... a lot of features in this game aren't.
That station certainly DOES need more signals though.

Well trust me, the signals are coming. Like I said "What do you think of my network so far?Melfice wrote:Well, it's not ultra-realistic, but then... a lot of features in this game aren't.

Note the "What do you think of my network so far" and the "Not much has happened yet".

Okay, okay.
Take it easy. No need to get all defensive.

Well that scenario I was working on turned out to have AI on it, so I gave it up. But I'm working on a new one, the same map without AI.

Re: Ashchetum's Screenshots [OTTD]
Ok this is a dig, but I think it is appropriate. Anyway:
Thursday July 9
Well now that I've got OTTD on my laptop, I've been working on a small map 128X512, and I think it is one of the best outcomes I've had yet. Here are some screenies!
I started this map with buses and trucks to be on the safe side, then when I had the funds, started a modest network which continues to expand. I'll stop when I connect every town to every other by way of either train, bus, or air.

Re: Ashchetum's Screenshots [OTTD]
The last scenario, well It got a little boring. I wanted something more eye pleasing.
I was browsing the screenshots section, and I ran across ivanfurlanis's screenshots. I have to say, THERE BEAUTIFUL!!!!
He had one of his scenarios up for download, and I grabbed it, and am using it now. I love it! Its so eye-pleasing!
I just started it today, and so far so good, with only about an hour careful work I got this far.
Here is the page with ivanfurlanis's screenshots and the scenario download: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... 4&start=40

Re: Ashchetum's Screenshots [OTTD]
Glad that you like that scenario but it isn't mine. I found in OpenTTD, I reworked it a little adding more towns and grf but I cannot call at all "mine". Why not to show some screenshots about your game? I'm very curious...
Re: Ashchetum's Screenshots [OTTD]
Well that try at the game turned into a big flop, I'm trying it again, its turning out better this time. I'm still a huge noob at ottd.
