My first (experimental) OpenTTD game
Hey all, so since I'm new to OTTD my first game was largely about experimenting with the new features available in OpenTTD, and also with more complex multi-track routes since my previous games had always had simple single-track routes. I decided to post it up here for you guys to look at, just for fun. Obviously it's not going to be anything near the standard you guys play at, and hopefully I can get some feedback on particular areas in which there is room for improvement.

I think you should change the station style. You should build terminus stations with presignals or path signals (AKA PBS) instead of Blocksignals

Nice tracks caveatemptor, you have a good start there. I can agree with FHS that the main area you need to improve is the use of advanced signals such as pre signals or path signals.
Two more places to improve is that you have a few places where its a big gap between the signals at junktions (example west of cardingbury station) and ofcourse you use to much rail
You are training the ability to have multiple trains on the tracks but still you got places where two groups of tracks are going the same way just side by side, merge them together.
Over all its a really good start

Re: My first (experimental) OpenTTD game
Thanks for the suggestions guys! I had had the signal suggestions in mind for a while. When I get time I'm gonna start a new game and try use better signalling from the start, as well as implement the other suggestions you guys have.
Thanks again!
