Maximum number of ships
After searching, i found here that the max number of ships (as in ship models) is 11. Is this still true as of the latest nightly or are there patches that raise that number?

I think it has increased with the new vehicle pool. Not sure though, maybe someone could confirm?

I have been fooling around with ship code from an existing grf which has 11 ships in it. This however might have been coder error, I may have had an ID wrong somewhere in the nfo. I didn't investigate further, I just changed some attributes of one the existing 11 ships instead.
I will be investigating this further at some point. A ship set is on my list of 'things to do'. However that's a pretty long list!

The engine pool should raise the limit to 256 in a single grf, if it doesn't work then I think a bug...

65535. Although you couldn't have other vehicle types with that amount... You don't need to have 'multiple engine sets' enable, either.

Thanks guys! That answers my question -- you CAN have more than 11 ships, up to 65536. Thank you, peter1138, for that valuable info and link!
