Computer (enemies) not building anything. Help please!

Hello,

I just installed OpenTTD 0.6.3 and started playing but after some time i noticed that all the computer (enemy) companies are only worth of $2 (after years & years)... all of them build around 2 trains, 4 vechiles, 1 plain or so on...

Has anyone else had this kind of problem? Any idea what to do? It's really pointless playing the game against the computer like this :S

Get a current nightly or wait for 0.7. There you have decent AI opponents.

maybe, just maybe, i have the answer for this.

i started a game without any competitor or in this case, Enemies. i played it until year 2070-ish, and start to add AI (enemies) after then. they actually built a station or two, but never continue with anything and their company value was always 1$.

My theory is, maybe the price for anything on the year 2070 was so high (because of the fluctuation) the AI took maximum loan, build something (with expensive price) then ran out of money, and eventually choke on its loan interest , Boom.. all negative, and here goes, an AI just sitting there with 1$ waiting to declare bankruptcy.

this is just my theory thou, when you start the AI ? long after you play it or right after you start to play?

I'm attaching two saved games, first one is a game I started playing until I realized the competitor ain't doing anything.
The second one (unnamed) is without me even building anything. I setup two AIs to start a day after me and nobody has built ANYTHING (including me).

"Latest nightly build" is not a version, please be very specific in the version you play (if someone reads your post tomorrow, he'd have to look up what the version of yesterday was.

Competitors start soon, but they don't build even one thing.

When loading your savegames, the AIs immediately start building, in both of your savegames. Did you actually download any AI? If you don't have any AI at all the dummy AI is loaded, which does indeed nothing.

Yeah, I just realized that was my problem... no AIs were downloaded.
