Multiplayer Problems
Hey TT Community,
I just want to ask if there are any problems with the multiplayer mode at the moment?
I never tried multiplayer gaming before, so I don't know if this is a permanent problem. I can't find any Server in the list and I am extremly sure this isn't my fault. I checked the port forwarding of my router(even if it is not required for joining a multiplayer game), I turned off my firewalls and I have the right version of the game (0.6.3) but I can't find anything if I search for servers or even add them manually.
Best wishes

Why so sure of that? I'm able to get a list of servers just fine, so the master server is up and running.PROgnom wrote:I can't find any Server in the list and I am extremly sure this isn't my fault.

Because it's not the first time I am using my PCYexo wrote:Why so sure of that? I'm able to get a list of servers just fine, so the master server is up and running.

Thanks for the info, I'll try to reinstall the game.
Re: Multiplayer Problems
no chance... when I try to connect, the signal goes out to 85.17.162.188 (Port 3978) but I get nothing back.
Re: Multiplayer Problems
1) for clients you don't need to set up portforwarding.
2) there have been no problems with the master server for a long time.
3) your firewall, router and/or ISP drop the packet somewhere. The more saturated your internet connection is, the lower the chance is that the packet actually can make the trip to the master server and back. Try stopping e.g. torrents or other p2p applications.

Re: Multiplayer Problems
Check that the windows firewall didn't turn on on its own, that happenend to me one day. Otherwise maybe try re-activating your firewall and check the option.
I am little, ugly, and nasty. How do you do?
Re: Multiplayer Problems
The Windows Firewall is allways turned off. I use Sygate Personal Firewall and it allows any connection for openttd.exe
Every time I try to find Servers, the firewall shows me that the program sends around 60 bytes but I get nothing back.

Re: Multiplayer Problems
Maybe try calling them to know why it doesn't work... And check the configuration of you neufbox, maybe something is wrong over there...
At the start I had some problems with my freebox, with the DHCP, and giving my PC a static IP solved the problem.

Neuf Box...
The first thing I did to it was throwing it right out ouf the window.
I am using a NETGEAR DG834G Router and it is working fine for last 3 years. I player many online games and there was never a problem. Even now I can play every other online game without problems.
CounterStrike, World of Warcraft, EVE Online, Diablo 2, Battlefield 2142, Warcraft 3, Test Drive Unlimited
Every single game is working fine with a great connection speed only OTTD has those problems.
