Company colors
Is there a way to quickly set all the colors for all my vehicles of every type to the same color, or do I have to do it manually every time?
TIA,
Chris

Re: Company colors
Would ne a nice feature to have a "save" option in the colors window. Kinda like the one you have in the manager face window...

Re: Company colors
Why not? Looooots of other requests?
Or are they undermanned and need more people to focus on the important things, like bug fixes?

Re: Company colors
And why not put this in the suggestions thread? It wouldn't take a lot of work to implement this and I'm sure the dev's will see it is a good idea but it would have slightly more chance of being implemented if it was suggested in the right place.dihedral wrote:bugs.openttd.org - just dont set your hopes too high

Re: Company colors
Wouldn't it? So why don't you do it yourself? (Hint: if you reply "I can't", how do you know it isn't a lot of work?)thanet-bomber wrote:And why not put this in the suggestions thread? I doubt it, or it'd already have been implementedand I'm sure the dev's will see it is a good idea
bugs.openttd.org IS the right place.but it would have slightly more chance of being implemented if it was suggested in the right place.

It's possible that they didn't think of it; or got distracted by something else.Yexo wrote:thanet-bomber wrote:I doubt it, or it'd already have been implementedand I'm sure the dev's will see it is a good idea

Re: Company colors
Selfish as it may be, I have no desire to see this in my game and therefore I just can't find the motivation to do it.Yexo wrote: Wouldn't it? So why don't you do it yourself? (Hint: if you reply "I can't", how do you know it isn't a lot of work?)
I'm sure there are lots of things that the dev's want to see in the game that haven't been implemented. I'm sure there are plenty of things which haven't even been suggested.Yexo wrote: I doubt it, or it'd already have been implemented
My mistake. Didn't check and thought it was only for bugsYexo wrote: bugs.openttd.org IS the right place.

Re: Company colors
Guys... there's nothing wrong with suggestions!
Just because you don't like it or think it's trivial, doesn't make it a bad suggestion (especially if it's an extra, rather than a change... if you don't like it don't use it). One day someone will have an awesome suggestion and just think "ah there's no point mentioning it" and we'll all miss out on something truly awesome: like flintstones style dinosaur buses.
Suggest away. The worst that can happen is that it doesn't get implemented, but it might turn out to be a really good idea, and easily implemented, that gets put in next week.

Re: Company colors
it's annoying if things get suggested / mentioned / asked over and over again! there is a search feature, use it!

Hey, I didn't say there was anything wrong with suggesting this, but I rather doubt the "added value" to the game.audigex wrote:Guys... there's nothing wrong with suggestions!

Yep, but the thread I posted a link to was kindy hard to find if you didn't know it existed.dihedral wrote:it's annoying if things get suggested / mentioned / asked over and over again! there is a search feature, use it!
Re: Company colors
And at the same time, the search feature on this forum is pretty bad unless you know the phrases you're searching for.
If I want to find the UKRS thread, I doubt I'd have much problem... but "saving company colours" "company colours"... that could bring up nothing, a lot of irrelevant junk or exactly what you want, depending on luck. The problem is that it searches for the words you use, and you may have a different idea completely of what something is
Eg if I was looking at C++ and wanted to search a nice C++ forum for "that thing that happens when you put more than one argument in a function" I might search for "function multiple arguments" and get nothing; whereas if I'd searched for the same wording as the original post "method overloading" I'd find it easily. The same applies here - if you know what you're talking about it's easy, but what if you don't consider it a "save" of the company colours, but setting a default or a setting?
Either way, is it that hard to run a quick search yourself (if it's indeed as easy as you say) and post the link, or just ignore the thread completely if you don't wish to comment?

What is your point? I just agreed with what you said and I've already posted that link:audigex wrote:And at the same time, the search feature on this forum is pretty bad unless you know the phrases you're searching for.

Re: Company colors
Sorry, I wasn't referring to you
I should probably have put a name reference in my post; I was referring to those who tell others to "search" assuming it to be the holy grail of a forum, or more specifically this time to dihedral, who mentioned it

Re: Company colors
a search feature exists not only in this forum! the threads are also indexed by various crawlers, and one can easily find stuff with google here to!
