I've played a version of TTD where you can manage companies that you own 75% of...is there any patch for that in OpenTTD?

That would have been TTDPatch.

There exists such a patch for Open, but it is very unlikely to work with the current source. I think you have to use something around r8000 or r9000.

MiniIN was not what I was thinking of, but it works. Subsidiaries was actually last updated at r10821.

Still ancient, but not as bad as the Mini.
