Hi all.
A quick introduction from me first- started playing Transport Tycoon back in 97’ when our family got our first computer, the demo came free with it, but you could only use the trains.
Many years later, after getting into flight simming in a big way, I’ve found myself overseas with a laptop that isn’t capable of running the modern day graphic intensive games that I’m use to at home, so I searched the net for some old school games, stumbled across this site, and haven’t looked back.
I’ve downloaded a few user created scenarios, particularly of the UK and Europe, and thought I might as well try and make a map of my local area, Sussex, South England.
So here’s the finished product, a 512x512 area from Chichester in the west, to Canterbury in the east, stretching from Brighton to Central London in the other directions.
Please give it a go and tell me what you think- I know it’s not 100% accurate, as I based it mainly off a tiny map on the back of a tourist barouche, and the rest from memory. I know for a fact that I’ve placed the towns of Biggen Hill and Staines on the wrong side of the M25, but couldn’t be bothered to replace them, as I’d built the countryside up around them and didn’t have the patience to change it all.
I’ve included most major roads (every town is linked, no matter how small) and rivers that I can remember, and divided the metropolitan area of Greater London into a few big city ‘boroughs’ that sort of merge together.
I’ve also tried to include the appropriate industries that you’d find in real life, only farms, factories, forestry and banks, as Sussex isn’t really a big oil/iron ore producer. Not sure if this was the right way to go about it- as I said, this is my first time trying anything like this, so please feel free to give me any feedback/constructive criticism.
Cheers,

Also- I made a quick new 256x256 map of the North Island of New Zealand where I've been living for the last five years if anyone is interested.
