Well thanks Peaz.
I am a little frustrated that it goes so slowly, but considering that nobody is being paid for anything and (I assume) none of us are independently wealthy, the fact that progress is made at all is really pretty good. I shudder to think how much time Josef and Shadow must put into this, and for the same fees as the rest of us collect too. (0)

I'll be working on this project again today becouse I can't do the trains right now (no extra tools installed) and can't work on my site (can't get apache, php4 and mysql to work), so I can work on this again.
I think I'm going to try to make the graphics in .grf form , see if it works and if we can change names with it.
Also there was a person called Latabár Endre that posted a message in my guestbook about this project and he said he had graphics so lets wait and maybe we have more graphicauthors.

Asian Set graphics
Hi people!
I'm wanting to collaborate in creating new graphics for an Asian set.
I think you mentioned about that, so if you're still interested, please let me know.
I do have experience in customize game graphics: I worked with the team that makes the Transformers Quake2 total conversion, drawing some of the skins for the 3D models.
I also work in a DooM2 graphics conversion, which work in a similar way as TTD does (DooM isn't really 3D, but 2D sprites in 3D-like vectorial environment, so you must draw 8 versions of each animation frame: front, front-left, left, behind-left, behind, etc...)
I'm wanting to join the Asia project anytime
Bye

Yes, you are right. In fact, this thread could probably be locked.

Hello and welcome Nekomaster! I see you joined recently. So I am going to give you some advice for moving around in the forums
Always check out the newest threads in each section. That will be helpful when you want to join a running project. When posting new replies to topics, be sure to check out the date of the last posts, and what happened too! If you check this one, you can find the information in the posts before you:
> this project has moved to the Japan Project thread
> this thread could probably be locked
> let it die
"let it die" dating from Feb 17, 2004
This is called "grave digging" because you replied normally to a topic that hasn't been active in 4 years and a half. Don't worry, we all make this kind of mistakes when we are new to forums
It's fine to "revive" a thread when there is no other information about the subject and you want to retake an abandoned project. But if you checked out, there is a newer Japan set developement thread among the newest ones in the Graphics section, you can post there your ideas, and people will guide you about what can be done etc.
I'm very glad to have someone wanting to bring some help for the Japan set! go there and let's see what can be done about it. You can find a link in my signature.
Good luck and enjoy your staying here!

Re: ToyLand Graphics Conversion
More advices for hanging around in the forums:
Don't spam the same question at the same time in different threads: I see that you created a topic for your new industries ideas, then posted it here, and then in the Japan set developement thread. The best way to proceed always is to first ask about it in the newest / most active thread, and wait until someone replies to you. Don't expect inmediate replies, you have to give it at least a couple of days before someone does. If nobody replies maybe it's just that nobody has an answer to your question, or they are not interested in it, you have to learn to deal with that and listen to the others who have similar projects already running.
Don't be afraid to make a mistake, nobody is going to punish you
always try to find the way by yourself, and if you can't, then ask. Many new users ask a lot of questions they could find by themselves if they just try instead of just asking and wait for a reply. For example:

but if you had readed carefully,NekoMaster wrote:gimme a link to where I can suggest stuff for the Project please
For the moment keep an eye for the posts in the Japan set thread or in the one you started, you will find there what can be done with the new industries.I wrote:You can find a link in my signature.
Re: ToyLand Graphics Conversion
I would say, we should kill both this thread and his new thread, and keep all the discussion in the Japanset thread where it really belongs. Simple enough...
