OpenTTD Changes (SVN, hg, git)

Post by TrueBrain »

As some of you might noticed, today we moved to a new 'server' (read: VPS), where we redid everything from the ground up. Believe me when I say this was needed. That said, a few things you most likely want to know.

First of all, to get a readable overview of any of our VCSes:

http://vcs.openttd.org/svn/
http://vcs.openttd.org/git/
http://vcs.openttd.org/hg/

Or, their https alternatives:

https://secure.openttd.org/vcs/svn/
https://secure.openttd.org/vcs/git/
https://secure.openttd.org/vcs/hg/

The place to get your checkout from has changed to.

For SVN is now valid:

svn://svn.openttd.org/
http://svn.openttd.org/
https://secure.openttd.org/svn/

For hg (mercurial):

http://hg.openttd.org/
https://secure.openttd.org/hg/

For git:

git://git.openttd.org/
http://git.openttd.org/
https://secure.openttd.org/git/

As you can see, enough places to pick from :) Make sure to rebase your repos against the new URLs in case of 'hg' and 'git'. They are re-imported, and now contain the full log (instead of partly, how it used to be :p).

Any questions, please ask!

I know, I made it do that ;) Tnx anway :)

It turned out that the FCGI module of 'trac' (which we also abuse for 'hg'), was leaking memory per request .. in the order of 100 kiB per request .. that is like insane ;) So we changed the setting to standalone webservers, which seems to handle memory more graceful ;) But .. it took a while before I got it right :)

You should change the link on http://www.openttd.org/nightly.php to reflect the changes done, it is dead now.

On accessing http://vcs.openttd.org/git/?p=openttd/t ... a=shortlog I get a lot of '403 Forbidden - Open git-rev-list failed'. Reloading the page almost always helps.
