How can I change speccs on trains?

Post by jimmydanny »

I got a grf, okay, and I edited the PCX, fixed the NFO so I could use the new PCX, and the new train looked okay, so I want to change the settings of the original train in the grf to match the new train that I draw.

How can I fix this, anyone?

in the NFO, add an Action 0 to change the properties of the train

make sure you don't edit the original grfs, but instead create a new file, that you then add via the newgrf config

I suggest you to decode some simple newgrfs to study how these newgrf actions work. Also, check the GRF specs at http://www.ttdpatch.net
