West Coast generally shagged... (AGAIN)

Post by Dave »

Emergency works caused delays of 40 minutes south of Preston this morning and was a sign of things to come...

Signalling problems between Lichfield and Tamworth - delays of up to 45 minutes.

Now overhead wire problems between Wolves and Stafford - delays of up to 70 minutes with trains on the Trent Valley being delayed by the congestion.

FUN FUN!

Sorry, misread that for a moment and thought you'd said the problems were caused by Wolves.

As you say, fun.

Heh, was 30 min delays between Wakefield Westgate and Leeds in this morning's peak, some tit thought it'd be good to nick all the signal cable. Trains were cautioned at each signal for a 5 mile stretch in each direction. Best bit was the station PA systems use the same cables so all the punters heading into Leeds or Wakefield/Doncaster/Sheffield had no trains and no information!! Made my morning very easy!Made the punters pretty hissy!

Oh I thought he meant the football team!
That would be more believable ;)

Aren't they meant to be West Brom's rivals?

Overhead wire problems in the London portion of the WCML are causing severe cancellations and delays to Virgin, London Midland and Southern services.

LO services are unaffected and the brainier amongst the passengers must be considering bailing from the 390s for a stable run into Euston.

Disruption due to last til the end of the day.

Feel I ought to add to the GEML woes that are ever on going and never get the press that the WCML does. Broken down 360 in Chelmsford station saw single line working and delays of up to an hour. Fun fun!

That's because no one cares about:

1. Essex
2. Suffolk
3. Norfolk
4. East Anglia
5. Delia Smith
6. Inbreds
7. Gavin Dowland

As an aside, Fiona's aunt once practiced as a GP in an area of Norfolk notorious for inbreeding. Apparently the dcotors in the area had an abbreviation for when someone was healthy - NFN.

Or... Normal For Norfolk. Take from that what you will...

The NFN thing is olllllllllllld. I think the best one though was when the MP for Norwich North said that Norfolk has a higher rate of diabetes because of inbreeding. Suprisingly enough that didn't go down well.
