Doesn't the first ever metro unit still carry the original livery? They did one up for the Queen's 50th jubilee things when she came to open the Sunderland line as well. When i lived there, i think there was some advertising liveries....not sure if the metro centre (where the metro doesn't go!) advertised on one train.

Hello I Just noticed this there and I live in Sunderland were this line expands to and that pic was taken at sunderland station. i can say that the metro is smaller in height than the normal sprinter trains that go through they look amazing there aswell like. i'm gonna deffenetly use them :D :D :D

edit: at the moment there are no liveries. and there has never been ent mtro centre liverys as Gord said the metro never goes to the metro centre you need a train for that one. it goes to the airport though. all advertising is done inside

Note the obligatory "like" on the end of the sentence - the staple of all north-east UK dialogue.

Yer Mackem b****** ;)

Edit: Apologies, Got some friends from near Durham (Spennymoor) who breathe Newcastle, so I'm naturally anti-Sunderland :P

lol i never realised about putting it down there. as you can tell i'm anti-newcastle all the way yet i go drinking through there at least once a month.
I always find it strange how anyone who's from down south usually carn't tell the difference and it doesen't matter which side we always get upset. I always thought Spennymoor was closer to Sunderland but i could be wrong.

anyhow.

if it was possible for station animations you could've had the door animation. or is it possible?

Yeah - was a very early addition to the patch, as I recall - trains can react to being in a station by opening carriage doors, unloading slowly, etc, etc.

That's quite alright. Although I'm not really in agreement with that last part on your sig. ;)

Spaz O Mataz: Advertising liveries have appeared since the the very early nineties and still appear to this very day. http://groups.msn.com/tyneweartransport ... iesp1.msnw provides an extensive list of the schemes it has carried. Also some special liveries have appeared that weren't tied to ads but to celebrations of an anniversary (i.e. the BJRC and the NNSRC cars, of which the latter one I have seen previously all the way back in 1992). Also the Monergy '86 liveries, of which I must say I haven't heard of before. A small aside is whether that livery would be legal on the Sunderland extension if it existed to this day, as it doesn't haven't have a yellow front. The special liveries will probably be a seperate PNG file to be started on tonight.

Gord: Unit 4001 (the original prototype that was rebuilt and put in service) has always retained it's cadmium yellow and white colours, for which I must definitely approve. :P Metroland (a kids attraction in the Metro Centre) was advertised previously on a Metrocar, but none appear to have a livery for MetroCentre directly. (service to Swallwell Jct. to Newcastle Central (passing at Metro Centre and Dunston) of course is serviced by a fleet of either 142 Pacers or 156 Super Sprinters, for those of you who would like that info. :)

Well, I made the sig last night and plain ran out of time to URL it too, but I noticed some of the green unit windows are still the wrong shade to match, so that file is corrected (again). And with that, should be the last update of the main file. Now to do those unusual non-standard liveries of past and present. ;)

Another quick update, red has been added.

Also if I could ask a favour Monaro - with any future drawings, when you place out the different views, could you organise them as per the image below? That's rear view first, then spinning around in order from there. Makes coding much quicker, because I don't have to spend time re-arranging sprites.

Your command is my wish, or similar sayings. :D Look forward to spotting the red units at work...

Glad you caught me at this excellent time, as I have pre-organised these just in time. In livery order is the Monergy '86 unit, the 150th Anniversary of the Brandling Junction Railway Company unit, the 150th Anniversary of the Newcastle and North Shields Railway Company unit and the North Eastern Railwayunit.

As proper advertising units have very little photos to mention of, I think this PNG may finish the set off. :)

Just tested the red units out, they work terrific. Just wondering, does the game automatically change the colour of the units being added together or is there a way to stop that in the coding? Just a question I thought I would put out there for those in the know.

Just looking at these again, I don't think you show enough of the roof in the _ view. The whole of the grey area in the size standard needs to be dedicated to the roof otherwise it looks wrong.

Hm, hard to update without losing it's general smallness. But here is an improvement I hope.

I'm also not keen on the random livery selection when purchasing a unit, it took me several attempts to get a red one.

The colours will be fixed in the next version (the sprites are already fixed, but I've used an earlier set in the current grf).

Regarding the random colours, is there a way where you can select the colour that is built? I thought random was the only way...

Well spotted, I never even noticed that when I tested. Shows how good my attention span is, don't it?

Yeah, I found the random colour choice a tad on the annoying side, but didn't worry about due to it's testing stage. Maybe a refit option for each livery would be best.

Yeah you can use refits to change the apperance of the vehicles, and if you set all the refits to carry the same amount, it basically amounts to a livery "picker".

Ok I've looked into livery refit and it shouldn't be a problem, but I'll need a name for each livery. Monaro can you give me a name for each livery you've drawn?
