Great Eastern Mainline Chaos Continues

Post by Ameecher »

As some of you may be aware, the chaos on the Great Eastern Mainline extends to a week long farce now due to a freight train derailing at Marks Tey, this comes on top of the OHLE being ripped down on Monday evening the line has been running single track meaning a dramatically reduced service, then on Wednesday track workers who were working to re-install the OHLE after monday's incident were involved in an accident which saw 2 of them air lifted to hospital seeing the mainline closed. This now brings to over 3 days of incomplete service.

Yesterday's Eastern Daily Press (the newspaper for Norfolk) ran with the headline: "MP: East Coast Mainline the worst in Britain" in relation to this chain of events (although without the current mess that was added). Nice to know that we in Norfolk know where we are in the UK
