The blithering fool doesn't realise that by making 1 phase green for longer will make another red for longer. Looks like he's winning and all! Looking forward to tonight's Have I Got News For You, they won't have recorded it late enough for the result but there are bound to be Boris clips!

I think it's a stroke of genius that's bound to get him lots of votes.

I think he should adopt similar policies, such as making crime illegal and making pi = 3, so as to make maths easier. Oh, and of course reducing taxes whilst improving public services is always a winner.

EDIT: Oh dear god they actually voted him in!

Oh ... my ... god...

Well then they deserve everything they get. I hope they enjoy sitting at traffic lights for several minutes as each preceding phase lasts an age.

Poor Livingstone, after everything he'd done to. Does this mean that fool will be mayor for the Olympics?

Ken Livingstone seemed to be the only politician that understood the value of an integrated public transport system. He realises that nothing works smoothly unless there someone is willing to invest a lot of public money on transport. This is why I was very keen on seeing him re-elected.

The Labour leadership seem to go to great lengths to be ignorant to the need to match the demand for transport with the provision of transport, hence the logjams we see every day. This is why I can't wait to see them voted out.

It will be interesting to see what Boris Johnson does. Conservatives aren't usually very good on public transport.

In a surprise move, the Conservatives did electrify both the ECML and the Birmingham XCity. However, it was Labour who electrified the WCML, and the Southern Railway (privately) who electrified most of the Southern region before the war.

I do hope that Boris:
  • - Doesn't change the congestion charge
    - Doesn't mess around with London Overground
    - Encourages Public Transport to the nth degree
    - Not build any new roads
    - Cycle to work as visble as ever, and if not, take public transport when possible

Trust me mate, it needs messing about with because in it's current form it's rubbish. Just silverlink with a new name. Yeah yeah, I know, new trains and all that but something seriously needs changing to make it work properly because it is a very long hunk o' junk.

It'll work when it's all interconnected. Seriously, the suburban network of London is underutilised by tourists and leisure travellers. And it deserves to be more widely publicised. The GOBLIN has has received a huge surge in off-peak passenger numbers - needed for a line losing money.
