Oh I don't do it to keep people away - it means other people empathise with me and ply me with beer.

Fantastic!

Like Andel I make sure I look moody or angry. It keeps people away.

I've had some top results travelling between Preston and home in terms of this just recently - on the way back from Birmingham after Wembley I was sat opposite an absolute stunner from Lancaster University. Then was made to move by some gimp who claimed BOTH seats were his (my seats were on the table opposite which I hadn't taken because a group of three friends were playing cards). I wanted to kick his arrogant face in.

FGW getting 5 class 150's. I think these are mainly for the Bristol area. A few 143's are in the pipeline and formation of 3 car 158's for the Cardiff - Brighton line as well.

150's are perfect for longer rural lines. The 143's ... are they good for anything?

Its a blackspot, but out here in the provinces no-one ever seems to notice us, haha.

Good news eh.

No one cares about farmers, is why.

I'd've thought all units withdrawn for the 172s for LM would be put into store but apparently they're being cascaded. Good thing too, to be honest - they're only 20 years old and have plenty of life in them.

I avoid any cross country service that goes near Birmingham on a Friday or Sunday evening. In my experience it's not only an overcrowding blackspot, but also a delay and cancellation blackspot.

In fact I'm actually willing to pay two or three times as much to travel via London so that having boarded the train I can actually reach the seat that I've reserved and if my train's cancelled or delayed the service frequency means there's always another one I can get on instead.

I'd be able to avoid the worst of the overcrowding on the Didcot-Nottingham run if I could get a train direct from Oxford to Bedford. maybe in a few years...

Give them to brainiac (on Sky One) to blow up instead of the caravans?

I thought it was the 442s that were made from excessive amounts of fibreglass!

Northern are expected to get random bits of old stock... poor souls up there. I wonder if anyone will ever give them something new and decent?
Apparently South Eastern are getting some of FCC's 319s to a route from Sevenoaks - Kentish Town (sorry to bump an old thread but i'd though that this would add to the above post!)

Major 2008/9 Timetable Change

Many people have seen the changes to the timetable from December 2007, but from December 2008, the timetable will be changed radically:

* Southeastern will beginning operating around 20 Class 319 trains with First Capital Connect. This will mean that from December 2008, services between Sevenoaks and Blackfriars via Bat & Ball will be operated solely by Class 319s, and because of their dual voltage capability, they will be extended into Kentish Town, linking with St Pancras International. The 3 peak services from the Kent Coast to Blackfriars will be extended to St Pancras International.
