Theres something strange.....

Post by Centennial_Tycoon »

I reinstalled all the graphics correctly - it worked - but thats after i noticed that there was a file haus_dos.... (something like that.
I then downloaded the windows file and redid it..

Now comes the bad news - i just realized that the haus_win file could be downloaded by clicking on the dos and vice versa...
Could dinges please correct the error?

DOS = trg1.grf
WIN = trg1r.grf

So there is differance between WIN and DOS, dunnow why it goes wrong :?: :?:

I just tried it. The execute for windows only works with the trg1r.grf and not with the trg1.grf.
So it shouldn't be possible to use the exe-file in the wrong ttd-version. :?

Fixing the leaks...

Post by Centennial_Tycoon »

I have no idea which file affects waht and what not, but all i know is that the file (exact name ="wohnhaus01win_116.zip", im not sure abt. the dos exe name) caused my game to stop working.

Also to make sure u guys arent on a goose chase - i copied the TTD folder and ran only the dos exe and found mine didnt stop working but no change ingraphics was there, though i repeated the process after running several diff exes, and that was then the game stopped working :?
Strange, isnt it?

And the mix up seems to have been fixed abt. the dos and win file on the ttdgaphics website

Oh yeah..
I still cant download 'no points' - the error i receive is:

Not Found
The requested URL /~dinges/nopoints.zip was not found on this server.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apache/1.3.26 Server at flame.tiefighter.org Port 80

same error for hotel

Again there is no download file for stone bridge - this is what i see on page:

Id: 16, DATE: 2003-02-07, Times Downloaded: 27

Author: Mp3Pro

Winfile: N/A
Dosfile: N/A

As is said earlier strange isnt it? - its dloaded 27 times w/out a link!!! :?

Now you see why Homer's so confused in my avatar!![\b]

The first thing is becouse I made a typo, second thing is becouse Mp3pro has/had left us and he got all files of this forum, much of them are recovered but that one is still gone, that's why there are 27 Downloads.

I have read this topic and I see that there is a problem with my higher wohnhaus. I downloaded it from Dinges site but there is no problem for me. It works as it should.

it was because of wrong versions, in dos was win version and in win was dos .... anyway it is very suprising dos run and changed win grf file  (or win changed dos file)

Okay Dinges, here is the evidence to show you that Spacy is the author (To save you from reading all the messages in the forum)
spacy wrote:use the dutch 1800 loc ;)

http://members.home.nl/rolandj/ttd/
That website is the one Spacy set up so people could download his trains.

Here is the topic which I got the quote from

Here is his profile - Click on the "view all posts by Spacy" link, and you will be able to find the one in which he shows that he made the graphics.

Here is the topic he started to announce his graphics.

Now, I've saved you all the work, and you can give him his (rightfull) share of the credit.

Great. It's just you said that you would put it in when you had read all of the messages in the forum, and I thought you were waiting for evidence ;)

So you mean I did all that work for nothing?

Off-course I tried it again and again

It seems when I visit your site the first time it does something special
I can see many different names flashing by in a second page, finaly this second page is this screenshot

But afterwards when I delete this page I can swap back and forth to your site, it doesn't pop anything else, which is good

So I think it does something special the first time and that's when I got that virus warning in some script
