Check wether...
a) The subsidy was really about those two towns!
b) If there were already passengers transported in both directions, eg some from a to b and some from b to a
c) if you might not have been to late with the subsidy - check the subsidy window for that!

yes i wanted to post it last nite but gone to bed
so another problem i encountered is that after saving a game and then loading it (with and without restarting the game) theres no subsidies at all, there were few offered and few active. does anyone have the same problem? it doesnt happen every time

Yes, I've seen that happen in 0.6.0 beta3 too, dissapearing subsidies (after save/load) and subsidies that are active and not kicking in when I transport from a -> b like I should... Doesnt happen often tough.. Havent played much on beta4, so cannot say if it still happens for me there.

Started playing yeasterday with the last beta (beta4?) and I can't get passenger subsidies.. when i'm carrying goods there's no problem at all.. maybe I'm doing something wrong but the passengers are transported from town "a" to "b" and from "b" to "a", in the vehicle instructions what are the correct ones?

ok so now its ok, the save when the subsidies disappeared was one of the first ones (2-5) dont really know which one
i have no probs at all now
what i have done: moving all the stations that didnt make my subsidies work closer to the town's name lol
the closer it is the more chance to get the subsidy, thats what i think

It's not a matter of probability. To be eligible for a subsidy, a station must be within 9 tiles of the relevant town/industry (code in src/economy.cpp:1366,1381). The distance is measured in the maximum norm, from the station tile (the one having the station sign) to the center of the town/top tile of the industry.

In your screenshot, the town centers cannot be seen. Perhaps they are too far away from the stations?

they were too far, but i thought it doesnt matter how far away from the town centre the station is as long as its still called of the towns name and produces/attracts passengers

I had the exact same thing happening with a coal mine and a power station. My station was actually as close as possible to the coal mine, no squares in between, and the other one was just as close to the power station. I did not get the subsidy... Unfortunately, I didn't save the game, though...

Have been searching for a while, and think this is a good thread to ask my question..

What's the problem when you don't get subsidies at all?

I'm 20 years in to my game and didn't get one subsidie..

I would sure like to see a savegame there, if the problem persists.

For cargoes where you use cargo dist, subisdies are disabled.
The reason is that cargo dist doesn't understand subsidies.
