NewGRF update: Grassy Knolls

Post by one billion daleks »

My apologies if I seem to be spamming the boards here, but a separate thread really seemed the best way to make sure that anyone interested would find out I have rewritten the Grassy Knolls GRF I posted, just yesterday.

The original GRF completely removed the "Purchase Land" sign and brown tiles from the game (which is all I wanted to do - personally :) )

However it turned out that a few people wanted to get rid of the brown tiles, but still keep the sign ... so I quickly knocked up another GRF to provide for this preference.

But obviously, providing two separate files to do essentially the same thing is a pretty clunky way of doing things!

So I have now created a replacement file grassyknoll.grf, which provides both options via a player-set parameter in the NewGRF menus.

1 = no brown tiles, sign on.
None (default) = no brown tiles, sign off.

So now people can choose whether to activate the sign or not.

The amended file has been added to the first post in the Grassy Knolls thread.
I have also substantially rewritten the first post in that thread to reflect these changes.

Anyone with no_brown_tiles.grf or yesterday's grassyknoll.grf can delete them, as they will find this new file does the job of both.

Thank Q!

Well, people who are interested will read the thread, so this is a bit of spamming. In future, I'd keep to thwe same thread. Not only is it tidier but you also risk splitting the discussion and things get muddled up.

(Technically this is the third thread on the same thing as you put on in the TTDP Graphics too! Be careful...)
