Dedicated Server?

Hey guys,
Before I start:
1. I did search but found nothing
2. I'm a real novice at this sort of thing.

I was curious on how to run a dedicated server from a Windows Vista computer? It's only temperary for a night or two, cause usually I play myself, but I'm going to be away and wouldn't like to take it offline (certain people like coming back).

On top of that, how do I do the console thing? Once again, I've never done this before and want some help .
