20.1 inch widescreen

Post by jkholt1 »

Can I get some suggestions on what would be the best resolution setting to to get a full screen on my 20.1 in. widescreen LCD? I am running the latest beta on OTTD.

Thanks,

Doesn't your monitor have it's "optimal" resolution written on it somewhere(or written in it's documentation) ?

Not sure about that, but you can choose the different resolution settings from the options pull doem menu when you atart a new game. I was just wondering, for me, there are two settings that look great that fill up the whole screen. I guess it was just an inquiry to what other folks have chosen (that have widescreen displays).

Thanks,

Your screen, as with any other LCD screens, will have the "native resolution". It is most probably 1680px x 1050px. You should set the resolution to that. This actually goes for not just OpenTTD but any other full screen application (games etc.) as well.

I've got 22'' and I play windowed as Lil Dood... just maximize the window and the resolution will automatically change to "other" in options.
Playing OTTD in fullscreen makes sense only if you want to see everything enlarged. You have to set the resolution to lower than the native (=maximal) resolution of your LCD. If you have set the monitor/video card driver to stretch the display when set to lower resolutions than native, you will see everything bigger, but, unfortunately-blurred.
