Changing the letters at top of title screen

How do you change the letters at the top of the title screen... the original TTDpatch has Transport Tycoon up there.... OTTD has Open TTD up there...

any help appreciated... thanks

That depends on what exactly you are trying to accomplish and in which game. A lot could be done by simply modifying the sprites that get displayed.

If you just want to change the font of the existing text, modifying the appropriate sprites in trgir.grf should do the trick (they're easy to find, look near the end of the file). If you want to change the text to something completely new, the easiest way would probably be to replace all except one of those sprites with completely transparent ones, and replace the remaining one with a really big sprite containing the entire text. I've attached a quick GRF I just made to check that that method works, which you could use as a template if changing the text completely is what you want to do.

Note that this post applies to TTDP only - I don't know how OTTD handles the title screen text, so what I've written may or may not be relevant to it.

how did u get the custom text onto the main menu? did you overwrite the old text in the trgir file...

all i want is to change the letters that appear on screen... so instead of Transport Tycoon it would say something like:

Transport Tycoon Deluxe GE
