Thanks to new 32bpp engine we could enjoy nice effect in game.
This is direct copy of original artwork with added transparency layer.
So yes, 8bpp data. I like original artwork very much.
Files are saved in 32bpp because gimp cannot display right when image is in indexed color mode with alpha channel.
Update for openttd-0.6.0-beta2: Older versions: About copyrights, my statement is simple:
Please send this modification to copyright owners. I'm giving it for free.
So anyone could buy this pack from them.

Re: transparency pack
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what does this actually do? Do you have a screenshot?
Re: transparency pack
not a stupid question at all.
i was about to ask the same thing.

Re: transparency pack
This pack adds transparency (alpha channel) to some sprites. Cursor for example.
Which sprites are modified You can check by looking into tar file.
There is txt file inside with install instructions.

Re: transparency pack
Realistically, though, hardly anyone is going to download the tar before they see one or more screenshots.

Re: transparency pack
mike123: Nice idea but:
They are the original sprites. (Other members of the forums will start a flamewar to you as they did to me, for copyright issues.)
So they are 8bpp.
Some replacements already done.

Re: transparency pack
In fact, they're 24bpp (at least that's what my IrfanView says). And yes, since they're deriver from original TTD graphics, there might be some copyright issues
Pity, because I like the idea...

Re: transparency pack
Sorry for not being clear. 8bpp > 32bpp, but uses no more colors than the original sprite's palete = 256. Just added transparency.
And read your IrfanView info better next time.

Re: transparency pack
Awesome. That's the way 32 bpp should be used. May be you could provide some manual(or just a palette?) for other artists about using transparency?

Re: transparency pack
I will, but you'll have to explain me, what is the diffirence between 'current' and 'original' bpp rate. Seriously... I don't know.athanasios wrote:And read your IrfanView info better next time.

Re: transparency pack
The screenshot shows 32bpp original colors and 24bpp current colors. I assume that the original colors is the color depth used in the image file. The current colors is the color depth used for displaying the image (24bpp because the 8bit alpha channel is missing and the 32bpp are converted to a 24bpp without transparency because your monitor cannot display transparency). But that is just a guess.
