I thought the architect was a bit of a drama queen, although I understand his concern completely.

I could see his point but crying about it and wanting to slash his wrists. Who employed the emo?

i think you fail to understand the relationship some architects have with their designs...
it would be his baby and he would have put his life and soul into making it perfect and so understandably would be upset when other people didn't give a crap about it (although maybe crying like that and wrist slashing was perhaps a little over the top even for architects...

Re: The £800million Station
Just spotted this. It may or may not be worth taking seriously. Basically it suggests that Eurostar is considering operating to destinations in the Netherlands and Germany in the future - with new or modified trains of course. Something that is much more feasible now St Pancras is open. Currently one needs to change at Brussels Midi onto a Thalys or ICE to reach these destinations by train.
Can anyone tell me what the state of HSL-Zuid is at present? All I've been able to find out is that it's due to open this year?

Confusious say "Man with one altimeter always know height. Man with two altimeters never certain."

Re: The £800million Station
I have not managed to see any of it after the first one. Between watching The Wire on DVD and uni essays my life is being ruined so trains are low on the agenda. It does seem to be more about architecture and spending massive amounts of money rather than the importance of trans continental railway and the future for the eurostar to develope into something that could rival short haul flights.
