It doesn't workDesolator wrote:I'm compiling r11192-ChrisIN in MinGW so you guys can play in Win9X. Sorry, I've found no diff file for the latest build.
EDIT: Here it is. If it doesn't work scream to Chris (I got a few warnings). If his code is good, scream to the devs. If their code is good, scream to the MinGW devs. Thank you.
EDIT: Removed old file.

You need to use "configure --disable-unicode"
and use "make bundle" to create the package before zipping it, or directly "make bundle_zip" (if you have zip CLI installed)
Re: Integrated Version ChrisIN-r11204 [05/10/2007]
Hm. I have a game saved with 11174, which when opened in 11192 or 11204 has all industries requiring passengers, passengers and passengers, and producing passengers and passengers. The stations appear to still accept the correct cargoes, but the industries aren't producing them. A bug with NewIndustries, perhaps?

I think so. ChrisIN doesn't influence GRF handling and industries, so you would probably experience the same with trunk games.Entimix wrote:Hm. Ok now it works with win9xDesolator wrote:Done. Updated the file in my previous post.

But I think it is not network-compatible with other ChrisIN builds.
Re: Integrated Version ChrisIN-r11204 [05/10/2007]
Oh well...but why would someone use Win9X anyway?

Re: Integrated Version ChrisIN-r11204 [05/10/2007]
That's probably due to the different libraries required/used for Win98 builds. Can't I somehow compile a version that's working on NT based Win32 + Vista and Win98/ME? I am also wondering wether the MAC version works on networks with the Windows version I compiled, but so far nobody said the opposite. If just everyone would have Windows XP or VistaBut I think it is not network-compatible with other ChrisIN builds.

There aren't really many bugfree patches to be added right now, so I think there will be some time with no bigger updates the coming days/weeks. The close airports will probably be in the next build and I am watching the progress of shared tracks and passenger destinations but they don't have a sufficient quality (i.e. not crashing the game in certain cases or causing bad bugs) to be added right now.

I dont think it is GRFs, look... Save game attached as well (ChrisIN-r11204)chrissicom wrote:I think so. Before anybody starts laughing at my poor network design, that was a very old TTD game I imported into ChrisIN and really couldn't be bothered to update the designs apart from some pre-signals.
Edit: The original save is fine though.. maybe save game versions?

Re: Integrated Version ChrisIN-r11204 [05/10/2007]
Did you try loading the original savegame with trunk r11204 and didn't see these problems?
Re: Integrated Version ChrisIN-r11204 [05/10/2007]
I meant the version string. It is r11204M for win9x build.chrissicom wrote:That's probably due to the different libraries required/used for Win98 builds. Re: Integrated Version ChrisIN-r11204 [05/10/2007]
I have found a bug connected with waypoints -
When changing the name of the city, the area for the waypoint name does not change its length...
- names of stations are OK
(r11204)

Re: Integrated Version ChrisIN-r11204 [05/10/2007]
Hmm I downloaded Desolators version of ChrisIn a few moments ago, backed up my existing ChrisIn (even though since newindustries I play the nightly) and it does this on loading:-
ini: trailing characters at end of setting 'advanced_vehicle_list'
Then after I click OK, this happens
ini: trailing characters at end of setting 'loading indicators'
Then after I click OK, it seems to try and load, and then produces this error message
Cannot open file 'oldtracks.grf'
(which is probably down to someone not including the right required GRFs with his release...)
Then it finally dies with:-
Assertion Failed!
Program E:\Program Files\NewChrisIN OpenTTD\openttd.exe
File: C:/Coding/MSYS/home/Mircea/ChrisIn/src/openttd.cpp
Lines: 112
Expression: 0
So, basically, did I make a mistake trying to put it over the top of my existing ChrisIn, or did someone release a defective version?
EDIT: Right, after finding Oldtracks, it works but it still has the first two messages about length.

Re: Integrated Version ChrisIN-r11204 [05/10/2007]
The original works fine in all versions. Just the one I've played with since which I thought would have something to do with save game version.
I've had this problem for a while but never really thought much of it as people usually beat me to the bug reports.

Re: Integrated Version ChrisIN-r11204 [05/10/2007]
I included all the GRF files, but I got a few warnings when compiling so now you know the cause for the assertion. And also the config format has changed that's why it complains because of space.
Re: Integrated Version ChrisIN-r11204 [05/10/2007]
A lot of people reported this bug. Just change the patch setting ingame and it will be gone.SquireJames wrote:ini: trailing characters at end of setting 'advanced_vehicle_list'

"The errors we we're getting were to do with the nightlies. "Trailing characters at the end of Advanced_Vehicle_List_ " or something to the effect.
I just deleted the .cfg file and forced it to make a new one. Lost all the settings and had to put them all back in, small price to pay for the advanced vehicle list and loading indicators.
No idea what was wrong or what was causing it, but that fixes it.
Just so ya know." - Kanibal

The format of some switches in the config has changed and the game couldn't recognize them, so it told you, although I admit the error message is bit strange.
