Adding new graffics to TTD... Maybe I'm just stupid?

Hey guys

I've just started playing TTD again and so far i have managed to put the 2.5 BETA expansion on with no trouble. I have downloaded the bew graffics aswell...

Now this is where I have started going round in circles. I have downloaded a new stations pack and i have put it in the new graffics folder (unzippped and taken out of the newstations folder it came in. I have also taken the newgfsw file and put it in the NewGrfs folder. I have opened up notepad and added the the infomation which i got from the FAQ section.... and nothing! I have tried so many thigns I hav no idea why it wont work. Have I done something wrong or am i just stupid and have no idea what i am doing LOL

Sorry for being such a noob...

and for the record... I have searched and tried my best so now i am looking for help

Which file did you edit using NotePad? Your newgrf.cfg? And why did you put anything in the graphics folder? Just the *.grf would be enough.

(Can someone move this to the Problems forum, please?)

I edited the newgrf file with notepad and added the line which was in the Readme file supplied with the download

I put the (in this case) newstatsw.grf file in ther new graffics folder.

i did that because thats what it told me to do on the read me link it had with it

I think if you look closely, you'll find that this file (assuming you mean "newgrfw.cfg" here) does not go in the newgrf folder, but instead in the same directory as ttdpatchw.exe.

yeah try that. newgrf.cfg goes in same main folder as ttdpatch.cfg

Yeah that seems to have done it. Thanks A LOT guys. Its making my complex railways A LOT better
