cargo tram set
Moderator: Graphics Moderators
Well, in North America, there were a large number of local stretecar/tram lines that hauled coal and such around their respective cities. The problem here, is what's the difference between a "tram" and a "Train" as Michael pointed out. I've got big interurban cars as well as a steeplecab electric in the Canset and North American Renewal Set. I also have 3 types of streetcar in another set. That said, should I add freight cars and a steeplecab into the tram set, or keep them as interurban rail vehicles?
Coal, goods, oil, etc would normally be transported in standard freight cars and pulled by a locomotive. I'm not sure how well that would translate into a tram setting. That said, I think a box motor style streetcar with trailer could be used for mail, goods, food, gold, and valuables.
It's an idea worth pursuing, and I look forward to your work m3henry

oooh yes please weirdy!
now should we have ttd style trams or non ttd?
I think most cargoes should be supported but the coal, mail, food, goods should come first.

Well, considering he hasn't actually done that much... He has taken 2 vehicles in the original TTD and stuck them end to end.eirikho wrote:Please, he is just making some trams that some of us want.
I am aware that m3henry has the ability to draw quality graphics, this might be a good time to employ them.
And m3henry, would you like me to draw some cargo trams for this set?

for now its getting something simple into the game, and doesnt look too bad, then it can evolve into a hand drawn one.eirikho wrote:Well, you could call it temp-GRFs?
