New (UK) Signal Set [Extremely Early WIP]

Post by Ameecher »

This thread has been created early than I wanted to create it but it is to save on spamming Pikka's UKRS thread.

Below are my current plans for edited semaphore signals, it should be fairly self explanatory. The entrance signals I'm happy with but I'm not sure about the signal layout for the exit signals (it needs something to distinguish them) and combo signals.

Maybe you shouldn't use the yellow/white sheme for the presignal signs, they can be hard to make up at times. I would suggest you pick colors which are easy to distinct.

They were just there to show which signal is which. I do intend to change that.

Don't change it too much though, or you'll confuse people.

You need eight distinct signal designs, btw. Have you had a look at how I've done the semaphores in the US Signals? I use the standard pre-signal bars (although I recolour the bottom of the post for the vertical ones, rather than using a sign), and add the distant arm to show PBS.

Indeed, this set needs a lot of work. I created this topic to stop unrelated posts in your thread, also if there is a thread maybe someone will bump it so that I actually remember it exists. ;)

I will get it done and thanks for the tips Pikka.

the entry signal would always have yellow up when the red is up, because a signal is green ahead
*this assumes that the train is heading for a depot or exit/combo signal

the exit signal is difficult
hmmm...

the combo signal would probably be a bracket signal

Can I suggest "Rusty" semaphores, to make them look old. Like make them a brown color or something.
